		YAC (Youth Ministries) Young Active Christians (YAC) for Jr. and Sr. High youth (6th - 12th grades) At Woodlyn Baptist Church, we endeavor to invest much into our young people. They are not only a part of the Church today, they are the Church, community and home leaders of tomorrow. Therefore, the youth ministries will persist in helping young men and women learn how to love God and learn how to love others (Matthew 22:37-40). This requires the ministry to communicate the truth of the Bible, to assist in comprehending it, and to guide in applying God's Word in the lives of our young people. It is said that it is wise for an individual to invest in the future. Our goal is to encourage our youth to be Christ-like in actions, speech, and thought, and to help them build a relationship with God. Junior High YAC Ministries • 6th - 8th grades • YAC Bible Studies meet in the fellowship hall in the lower level of the church • YAC Outreach and Ministry Activities are held every other month • Stampede - A series of evenings in July with activities and Bible studies Senior High YAC Ministries • 9th - 12th grades • YAC Bible Studies meet in the senior high room in the lower level of the church • YAC Outreach and Ministry Activities are held once a month • Sr High Youth Retreat - once a year weekend designed to deepen the youth's relationship with God • Sr High Youth Graduation Celebration - an evening in May or June • Stampede - A series of evenings in July with activities and Bible studies YAC Bible Studies These studies are every Sunday night during Evening Service, 6:30 - 8:00pm at the church. This is a time of team games (Jr High only), a Bible study, and discussions. We follow a carefully prepared curriculum designed for the age group which will present a gospel message, prepare the youth for practical ways to apply God's Word in their lives, and understand the principals of the Bible. YAC Activites We have outreach activities like hiking, cookouts, or game or gym nights to encourage the youth to enjoy fellowship together and to invite their friends to hear a simple presentation of the gospel. Some activities are ministry building (teaching and applying principals of ministering to others). Sr High Youth Retreat This is a weekend of Bible studies, discussions and activities to renew and improve the youths' relationship with God as well as presenting them with a clear gospel message. Stampede A series of evenings in July that serves as an outreach to youth. We have Bible studies, games, discussions, and worship time. Other Ministries of Interest • Heart to Heart - a ministry to girls in 1st - 10th grades • Christian Service Brigade - a ministry to boys in 1st - 12 grades • Yng Ambassadors Choir - music ministry • Sunday School - for everybody "And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me."
